U.S. Veteran

Wilbur Dean Moore, 83, of Arcanum, died Monday afternoon, April 23, 2012 at home. Mr. Moore was born in Darke County on June 7, 1928, the son of the late Orrean H. and Myrtle (Ressler) Moore. He was a member of the Gordon United Methodist Church. Wilbur was a 1947 Graduate of Monroe High School. Mr. Moore was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War. He was a well known Farmer and Rural Arcanum Postman retiring in 1988. He loved to watch his grandchildren play sports. Wilbur was preceded in death by his Brothers, Hubert and Deo Moore, and a Sister Marie McGriff. He is survived by his wife Aloha (Purtee) Moore, whom he married November 23, 1952; Daughters Diane Gray and husband Michael of Arcanum, Lori Moore of Arcanum, and Dean'a Cook and husband Doug of Bradford; Son Lance Moore and wife Janey of Laura; Grandchildren Erin (Matt) Buttermore, Kip (Mallory) Gray, Haley Gray, Chase (Abbey) Moore, Cole Moore, Austin Cook and Meredith Cook; Great Grandchildren Colten Buttermore, Weston Buttermore, and Lillian Moore. Memorial Services will be held 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Gordon United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Glover and Rev. John Gilmore officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice, 1350 N. Broadway Greenville, Ohio 45331 or Gordon United Methodist Church, 311 East St., Gordon, Ohio.
