Ione M. Luke

Ione M. Luke, 101, of Greenville, died Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012 at Rest Haven. Mrs. Luke was born in Berthold, North Dakota on August 23, 1910, the daughter of the late Edward F. and Adriella (Wagner) Jones. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Arcanum, where she had served on the official board as well as serving on various committees. Ione was active in defense work during World War II. She was the catalogue manager for thirty years with Sears/Roebuck retiring in 1976. Always active in the community, she volunteered for the Darke County Cancer Society, Heart fund, FISH, and Hospice of Darke County. Mrs. Luke was preceded in death by her husband Charles R. Luke who died April 1, 1987, 2 Brothers and 2 Sisters. She is survived by Daughters Marilyn Neff and husband Robert of Tennessee and Kay Luke Girbert of Greenville; Son Gene Luke and wife Nancy of Pennsylvania; Grandchildren Steven Neff and wife Rita of Greenville, Michael Neff and wife Deborah of Tennessee, Malen Luke and wife Hedy of Michigan, Brian Luke and wife Valerie of Pennsylvania, Jill Maier and husband Patrick of Pennsylvania, Amy Hahn and husband Tom of Michigan, and Peter Girbert and wife Diane of Indiana; 16 Great Grandchildren; and 7 Great Great Grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Arcanum with Rev. Doug Baker officiating. Interment at Miami Memorial Park, Covington will be private. The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday 10 AM - 11 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice, 1350 N. Broadway Greenville, Ohio 45331 or Trinity United Methodist Church, 112 W. South St., Arcanum, 45304.
